USEFUL INFO Foods and Beverages
Peruvian cuisine offers a great variety of typical dishes from the
coastal, mountainous, and jungle regions. Ask before ordering because
some dishes are too hot or too spicy. You will also find many
establishments where international food is prepared.
Regarding beverages, you should try the Peruvian Pisco Sour (grape
brandy), “chicha morada” (purple corn punch), “chicha de jora” (fermented
drink made out of corn) and the “masato” (drink made out of yucca).
Plane ticket confirmation
Confirm your plane tickets in advance. If your flight is national,
confirm them within 48 hours before traveling, and if it’s international
within 72 hours.
Shopping
In general, the stores, shopping centers, and handicraft markets are
opened every day (even holydays) from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
In places such as markets or similar it is acceptable to bargain.
Bargaining is called “regateo” in Spanish.
Banks
The attention schedule in Peru is usually from Monday to Friday between
9 a.m and 6 p.m. Some banks are also opened on Saturdays till noon.
There are automatic cash machines from several banks on the city’s
